Synopsis

Between Europe and Africa, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea, lies one of the planet’s most remarkable natural crossroads. The Strait of Gibraltar is an extraordinary biological corridor, a place of passage, encounter and survival, where winds, currents and migrations set the rhythm of life.

Over the course of a year, Strait of Gibraltar: Nature in Transit explores this dynamic crossroads—from migratory birds filling the skies and marine life like dolphins and orcas thriving in nutrient-rich waters, to land creatures like mongooses and chameleons navigating shifting landscapes. As native species face changing conditions and incoming wildlife, survival requires constant adaptation.
