In the State of Acre, along the Envira River, in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon, submerged in the humidity, the sun and the rain of the jungle, the “men who smoke” connect with their sacred tree –the “ Samauma ”- through medicine. The rite of “Shururumá”, which is the constant consumption of marijuana during a music and dance ceremony, has allowed them to have a permanent connection with the forest. After 400 years of colonization they still resist.
