Wallace: The Other Darwin uncovers the story of the key figure in the theory of evolution who was overshadowed by Darwin. This documentary retraces his extraordinary life and takes us to the remote regions of the Amazon, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Malay Archipelago, where Alfred Russel Wallace developed the theories that made him one of the most brilliant naturalists, explorers and thinkers of all time.
In the Malay Archipelago, he formulated independently of Charles Darwin, the theory of natural selection and, by observing the incredible fauna of Borneo, Sulawesi, and New Guinea, Wallace defined what became the famous “Wallace Line”, explaining one of the cornerstones of modern biogeography.
