Two eagles struggle to survive and produce offspring to maintain their species: golden eagles are sedentary birds, they build very large and long-lasting nests and feed on a wide range of prey.
Short-toed eagles are migratory birds, they hunt snakes exclusively and build very small nests. Both species survive if a man does not hunt them.
The film describes their life stories in the typical Mediterranean mountain ecosystems of Central Italy, with a look at the intimate life of snakes and other prey species, sequences of hunting flights, and life at the nest.
