Synopsis

More than 75 years have passed since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states that we are all born free and equal. Its principles remain as valid today as they were then, but their implementation is an ongoing struggle. This documentary looks at the state of human rights in the world and the international legal system for their protection. From the workings of the International Court of Justice, the UN's highest legal body, to the International Criminal Court, which our world relies on when wars break out, and international laws are shaken in their foundation during armed conflict.
