How and why does one become a jihadist? In September 2020, a radicalized man stabbed a young Portuguese man to death in a kebab shop in Morges, Switzerland. Last January, the man nicknamed "the Emir", a man of Bosnian origin who converted to Islam, was sentenced in Paris to 15 years in prison for terrorism. Through the court hearings of these two jihadists, this documentary brings together lawyers, terrorism experts and psychiatrists to understand how one can commit the unthinkable or plan acts of terror down to the last detail. The portrait of the jihadist that emerges is that of a converted Muslim, psychologically fragile and immature, recruited on the Internet rather than in a mosque. In their eyes, jihadism is a way to forge a pure human destiny, even if it means living with horror.
