Synopsis

In the farthest Mediterranean islet away from continent, where most flightless animals died many years ago, we show a story of survival that has never been told before: The extraordinary evolution of an uncommon plant and a unique lizard, isolated in the middle of the Mediterranean.

This documentary is the result of 15 years of observing and recording these unique species and discovering their sophisticated feed and reproduction behaviors, which until now were unknown to science. Shrewd, intelligent, extremely curious, and a natural explorer: with these essential qualities for survival the lizard managed to stay alive here, on “The Island of Wind”; where for thousands of years, no animal could enter or leave, except for the flying species. Most of these castaways have since gone extinct. Only some were able to adapt so well that they still exist today, they are the skilled survivors of these hostile territories.
