This documentary series takes viewers on a journey along some of the world’s most breathtaking hiking routes to uncover the deeper meaning behind humanity’s instinct to walk. Following Alba and Raúl as they traverse iconic trails — from the Wadi Rum Desert and the ancient city of Petra on the Jordan Trail, to the tropical jungles of the Camino de Costa Rica, the mythical peaks of Mount Olympus in Greece, and the turquoise coastlines of Turkey’s Lycian Way — the series explores how walking connects us to the Earth, to others, and ultimately, to ourselves.
Season 1:
1. Pacific Crest Trail, USA
We are travelling to California to start one of the longest and most impressive hiking routes in the world: the Pacific Crest Trail. A path that crosses the United States along the peaks of the West Coast from Canada to Mexico. A real challenge only suitable for experienced hikers.
2. Inca Trail, Peru
This episode takes us to Peru, South America, to reach by foot one of the seven wonders of the world: MACHU PICCHU. The Inca Trail is a route that the Incas have kept secret for centuries and is now rescued to reach Machu Pichu on foot through the Andean subtropical forest on an unforgettable journey.
3. Kumano Kodo Route, Japan
We travel to the Far East to discover the Kumano Kodo, an ancient pilgrimage through the sacred mountains and temples of Kumano on the Kii Peninsula, which take us to ancient and rural Japan on a spiritual path of purification.
4. Way Of St. James, Spain
The Way of St. James is the most important pilgrimage route in Europe. Millions of people have traveled it for centuries to walk to Santiago de Compostela and Finisterre (End of the Earth) in Spain.
Season 2:
1. Jordan Trail
Alba and Raúl embark on a life-changing journey along the Jordan Trail, where ancient wonders and nomadic traditions converge. They reach the city of Petra and cross Wadi Rum Desert by foot with the Bedouins, using traditional trade camel routes. They experience the essence of the most authentic and magical Middle East, savor exotic flavors, and dance to Bedouin rhythms.
2. Camino de Costa Rica
Our protagonists go on a tropical adventure from the Caribbean to the Pacific Ocean walking across the jungle. They encounter indigenous communities and rural towns, enjoy sustainable ecotourism, wildlife, and traditional lifestyles while crossing coffee, banana or pineapple plantations. They discover the charm of Costa Rica's less touristy regions and their Pura Vida lifestyle.
3. Mount Olympus Climb
Alba and Raúl hike the Mount Olympus in an epic expedition, where myth and majesty intertwine. This challenging trail gets the hikers immersed in the breathtakinglandscapes of Greece and uncover hidden treasures like a medieval chapel and a monastery in an ascent to one of the highest picks in Europe and home of the ancient Greek gods.
4. Lycian Way
This episode travels along the Lycian Way, Turkey´s hidden gem. Hikers explore the turquoise coast discovering paradisiacal beaches, lush forests, ancient ruins and old lighthouses. From Istanbul's vibrant streets to the solitude of the Lycian Coast, the journey is a fusion of culture and nature that ends with a hot air balloon ride during a magical sunrise in Cappadocia.
