Northern Kenya is home to one of Africa’s most endangered large mammals. For decades, thousands of imperial zebras – also known as Grevy’s zebras – were hunted for their skins. Today, barely 3,000 remain in the wild, and every new birth offers hope for the species’ future.
A little male has just been born. From his very first days, our protagonist will have to learn to survive in a land where water is scarce and the resources are unpredictable. Through him we will learn about the extraordinary adaptations that enable the Grévy’s zebra to cope with one of Africa’s most demanding environments, and we will discover the complex social life that determines the fate of each individual.
A story of survival that brings us closer to one of the most unique and little-known zebras on the planet.
