Synopsis

LOOKING FOR CO-PRODUCTION and PRE-SALES / (Here you can watch a teaser featuring some scenes and footage)

Science describes Antarctica as the "Heart of the Earth," a vital organ regulating the world's climate and biological cycles. Yet, this heart remains hidden beneath a decisive boundary: the Waterline. A diverse group of researchers is currently spearheading critical scientific expeditions in Antarctica, focusing on biodiversity, climate stability, and biotechnological innovation. Their collective work aims to protect one of Earth’s most fragile ecosystems while leveraging its unique biological properties for global benefit.

Their expeditions range from safeguarding Emperor penguins against avian influenza to discovering new underwater species and unlocking the "natural sunscreen" of Antarctic mosses for skin cancer prevention. This critical work extends to the deep past and the digital future, reconstructing historical sea ice patterns to understand global climate stability while deploying a 2,100-kilometer network of weather stations for real-time data transmission. These initiatives leverage the continent's unique biological properties to ensure both the preservation of a fragile ecosystem and the well-being of the entire planet.
