Synopsis

Through striking archival footage and exclusive interviews, this film sheds light on the history and activities of UNRWA and seeks to understand why its existence is so controversial, particularly since the attacks of 7 October. This UN agency, created 75 years ago, has played a central role in every upheaval in the Middle East. But ever since its creation in 1949, the agency has never stopped being accused by Israel of lacking neutrality and fanning the flames of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by backing Israel's enemies. Through testimonies from refugees, historians, Israeli politicians, and former agency employees, the documentary focuses on historical facts and explains the reasons why UNRWA is now at risk of being wiped off the map, with international law thrown out the window.
