Synopsis

In this chapter, we shall visit the millenary city of Chan Chan, in the North of Peru, which was built by the Chimú culture to worship the Moon and where human sacrifices were held and devoted to the Moon. We shall meet an astrophotographer from San Francisco who is obsessed with the idea of taking the best picture of the Moon and, in Santiago de Chile, we shall ride on bicycles in a poetical and romantic event, namely cycling under the moon.  In the Main Temple of Mexico City, we shall discover how the Aztecs could measure time following the Moon. We shall see that this satellite has a bearing on the life of native wayú women, in Colombia, through a sacred ritual. We end our journey in Houston, where we shall see the spacecraft that took men to the Moon.
